A one-time $25 fee is required to fund your Membership Share (savings account). Membership is restricted in countries subject to US economic sanctions or with significant instability (e.g., civil wars or no functional government). 1) Direct Eligibility (UN-Affiliated) Employees, retirees, consultants (with at least 6 months of ongoing engagement), or volunteers of the United Nations and its affiliated agencies (e.g., World Bank, IMF). Employees or retirees of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Employees of select UN-related organizations, such as the United Nations Foundation, US Fund for UNICEF, USA for UNHCR, World Federation of United Nations Associations, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, NATO Liaison Office to the UN in New York, OSCE, permanent missions to the UN in New York, United Nations Child Care Center, or United Nations International School (including students and their families). 2) Family or Household Eligibility Immediate family members of an existing UNFCU member (e.g., spouse, parents, children including adopted/legal guardians, grandchildren, grandparents, siblings). Individuals residing in and sharing financial responsibility for a household with an existing UNFCU member. Proof of relationship required (e.g., marriage/birth certificate or shared utility bill). Note: Members who joined as family cannot invite additional family. 3) Alternative Path for Non-UN Affiliates (via UNA-USA) If you don't qualify directly, join the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA) first, which is open to US citizens, permanent residents, or others committed to its purposes (provide a US address). UNA-USA membership fees: $25 (Young Professional ages 18–30 or Fixed Income), $50 (Standard), $100+ (higher tiers), free (GenUN ages 14–17), or $1,000 (Lifetime). Renewal optional after first year. Benefits include eligibility for UNFCU membership, among others like UN event access and discounts. After joining UNA-USA (receive confirmation email), apply to UNFCU selecting "UNA-USA Member" as eligibility. This path is valid for non-UN affiliates.
